Designer Kylie Radford’s recipe for enduring appeal with her label Morrison is hard to come by. It all started in Fremantle at the turn of the millennium with a design that gained immediate fame as the ‘good butt pants’. The pants went on to sell more than 25,000 pairs, and Radford’s initial 10-piece capsule collection gained instant national atten-tion. Away from the influence of other emerging brands in the Eastern States, the relaxed and sophisticated Morrison aesthetic was able to evolve organically. The label focuses on being unique, with collections that are warm and relaxed in natural fibres and muted tones that offer an immediate ease of wear. Since 2002, the brand has maintained its authentic Australian influence and still keeps much of its production on our shores.
Morrison will launch its high summer Resort collection on the runway at AMP Capital Swim + Resort Series, in an array of delicious sorbet colours like lemoncello, vanilla and pistachio. The South of France was an inspiration for this range, with tiered maxi dresses, silk tanks and asymmetrical skirts; just some of the wonders that are sure to captivate from the collection.
